Default Slipping Away

I find myself spending less and less time on GW, mostly due to no new content forever (that, and I'm convinced GW2 will be sliding back and back). I know others are, too. It's tough to find groups with my old mates just because most of us aren't around as much as we used to be. Now they're talking about taking Ursan away.

No new content, harder to find groups. I'm not a hardcore farmer, which is all I see anymore (both PvE and PvP farmers, mind you). Is there something I'm missing? Is there something new Guild Wars can offer me while taking away the few options we have left?

Please, pique my interest. Other MMOs aren't as good as GW, but they are offering something Guild Wars can't: something I haven't done twenty times before. If Ursan slips, semi-decent ability to group will be gone, too.

There's really nothing you can do except take a break. There most likely won't be any new content for GW1, and GW2 beta isn't until at least next year now. Stop playing for a few weeks, come back, I'm sure you'll find something to do.

Everyone takes breaks. My account has been active for 27 months. No friggin' way I've played for 27 months straight. There's not enough to do in the game to do that. I'd say after a good eight month break like me, you'll find yourself in the game for another month or two randomly.

Do what I do get on guild wars when you feel like it only. If you don't feel like playing it don't force yourself to play it. If you end up going months without feeling like playing it its time to say, "It was a fun time, a great game, but im done with it now". I don't see why people have so much trouble doing that to mmorpgs when they can have games they don't touch for years in a cabinet... I for one can quit a mmorpg from one day to the next no problem. And have in the past a lot. Deleted my FFXI account as a anger spur of the moment thing after 3 years of work on it. I don't regret it. Sure Id like to play on it once in a while...but oh well shit happens life goes on.I gave away my Sword of the new world password to my entire clan and user name, Because of something K2 networks did that was personally insulting to me, I do not regret it at all. I made sure to remove all information about myself to prevent anything from getting out of hand..but since it was a F2P game and i never used cash shop I didn't need to worry now I don't know who is running around with my old lvl 100s If you are tired of a game put it away. Play something else man. Its easy as that don't see it as an online game just see it as a video game you can quit and put in your cabinet at any time, If you want to come back to it im sure it will be here for at least another 2 years.

It's easy to break free from the MMORPG. I ditched Runescape like a hot potato.

Sadly, I had a level 106 before I did.

35 months of game play. Guild wars is a good game to leave and come back too.

Ursan made the game fun and accesible for players with jobs and lifes. Now I expect as usual. Things will take 2x as long for FR if ursan build is even still usable. Which makes the distance between the hardcore elitest player and commitment player gap, that ever bigger.

So in the coming months lets all say a big hello and welcome back to all the gold sellers.

(I don't condone or use gold sellers, just my take on what will happen)

Personally, I and most of my friends who used to play it are bored. We all feel that removing the hero limit would help a lot.

Man if they nerf ursan I might come back and actually play again.

the problem is making a specific char is pointless..cause unless u have ursan the char is no use to any group these days.

Which in turn (for me) took all the fun outta GW instantly

Actually I lie..even if they nerf ursan i wont come back. They screwed GW big time.

My interest in GW is vanquishing now , not for the money , but for the fact that the builds I choose for me and my heroes can or can't beat that area , vanquishing with ursan is dead boring. As for ursan getting the nerf bat , I don't care , I tried DoA runs but the people there are like beasts.
@OP : do what you like best , even if it's the most banal thing out there.

I say take a break and come back. That would be the best option.

Join a really active guild, title seek or take a break. I do all three and doing so has kept me playing for 3 years.

Guild Wars isn't supposed to hold you forever. It's not an MMO: it doesn't cough-up monthly and new content. If you're not having fun then you're supposed to play a different game. The more you try to look for more fun within a game where you're *not* having fun, then it's time for something new.

Take a break.

You either realize that GW is not gonna cut ut for you anymore and you'll not come back.
Or you will start getting all kinds of ideas about another cool thing you ought to do and you'll come back.

either is win for you.

just so you know... I have exactly opposite opinion. Ursan made PvE incredibly boring and full of elitist jerks who think their r10 Norn makes them good players. Ursan made me quit PvE after I realized Im falling asleep behind keyboard, and its not because of late time. Ursan made me hate people for being complete tools not knowing basics of game like aggroing, pulling, positioning, teamwork and such (all that after many months playing the game), and still succeeding at elite areas.

You don't wanna be hardcore player. You expect elite game areas to bow to you. Im sorry, but this is an utter communist crap. You already have maxed weapons and armor... what else do you want? According to your logic everyone should start game character with lvl20 plus fow armor, stack of ectos and r6 koabd in their pockets.

Well luckly not everyone is like you. I play this (or any) game for fun and challenge. I don't want any of this autowin crap. I want defeating something in PvE to actually mean something, rather than being a routine farming. I'm sorry, I already have a job in real life, I don't need another one. I want to play the game, if you don't - you can get the hell out.

THANK YOU!!!! Well said. My brother and I were talking about this just the other day. We worked with an alliance group (balanced) at Slavers (did Selvetarm). Took 21 minutes to clear the zone.

He and I wanted to try to pug Duncan, but no one would take us as we didn't Ursan. We both thought it pathetic. After all, normally, an Imbagon and a Domination Mesmer aren't the most popular characters selected for Slavers.

The funny part of this is he helped a group with Selvetarm a little later. 4 Ursan, 2 monks, an SS, and him (mesmer). It took over an hour to do that way. Three times as long with "experienced Ursan".

We'll be happy if an Ursan nerf comes. Maybe people will learn to use skill instead of mash keys.

Everyone is suffering from this syndrome. People play less and less for a very obvious reason...there is nothing left to do.

You can only take so much sap from a tree until it runs dry...and Guild Wars is rather...well...needing a major update.

The announcement of no beta in 08 was a big letdown for me personally, and I'm sure it was for many people.

Pfft, most people are taking breaks and never coming back, including me and most of the people I played with. When all of the GW2 shit went down I was convinced Anet spit out the news way too fast, and now I am more convinced of that than ever, they mishandled everything.

By the time GW2 comes out there are going to be better games out. I believe they are losing pretty much their entire player base doing this, slow suicide of their company. And the great thing is they seem not to care about this. I know that I have lost all interest in Anets games at this point, I play every once in a great while but I am seriously thinking of uninstalling and not looking back and even mabe moving onto WoW for a bit. Something I had never, EVER, thought I would consider. And by the time GW2 rolls out Aion and maybe even D3 will have been released, so I do not Think I am going to look to Anet for games anymore.

I do not mean to sound like a GW basher, I loved the game a ton. But when you feel like there is nothing left to do in game it is time to move on from it. And it is their own frigging fault.
